Two Games records were bettered on the second day of Pan American Games swimming events.
Benamin Michaelson (USA) won the 100 butterfly in 53.04, bettering the Games record of 53.33.
The USA's men's 4x200 free relay's winning time of 7:18.93 bettered the eight-year-old record from 1995 of 7:21.61 by another American team.
The USA added seven more medals bringing their overall total to 14 (8-6-0). Brazil has 8 (0-2-6) total medals with Canada in fifth with 4 (0-1-3).
The Americans won every event on the second day, with 15-year-old Dana Vollmer winning the 200 freestyle in 1:59.80, for her second gold (she was on winning 4x200 free relay on the first day).
Alexandra Spann (USA) won the 200 breaststroke in 2:29.76 with two Canadians picking up the silver and bronze. Lisa Blackburn, 31, in second with 2:31.52 and Kathleen Stoody, 21, in third with 2:31.93.
Robert Margalis (USA) and Eric Donnelly (USA) went 1-2 in the 400 IM with times of 4:19.09 and 4:19.65. Even faster was exhibition swimmer Ryan Lochte (USA) with 4:16.80 who was inelligible to advance to the finals.
